Happy Friday! Are y’ll gearing up for Pioneer Day and the 24th of July weekend? I’m heading to a wedding in Lake Tahoe this weekend, but if I were in town for Pioneer Day I’d be checking out the Days of 47 parade in the morning, stuffing my face with homemade pie in the afternoon, then watching the demolition derby in Kamas that evening…but I digress.
Today’s featured inspiration shoot is pure eye candy–what better way to get your holiday weekend off to a sweet start? Yesterday we dove into the world of groom and groomsmen fashion, and today we are diving head first into the pretty waters of bridesmaid fashion.
The stylemakers at Lily & Iris teamed up with Jacque Lynn Photography, Events by LMG, and Studio Stems, to create a garden party-inspired photo shoot highlighting some of the season’s best and most beautiful bridesmaid fashions. Feast your eyes on three frocks begging to be worn by bridesmaids this summer…
Though popular for a few seasons now, one-shoulder silhouettes are still a strong bridal fashion trend. And summer weddings are prime for flaunting sun-kissed skin in a one-shoulder dress, like this turquoise blue (one of the season’s hottest shades) frock by Dessy. The gown’s longer length tempers the sexiness up top. Ruffles are another big trend right now–the hint of ruffles on this gown’s shoulder strap is a subtle way to work the trend in your look.
Open any fashion magazine, and you’ll notice bright colors and neon hues are all the rage among the style set. This ensemble illustrates how to work the trend for pretty results: Pick a vibrant dress in a classic silhouette like this green dress by Lynn Lugo, add a chunky turquoise necklace, and complete the look with a pop of red lipstick. It’s bright, done right.
Shades of pink and purple are always choice for bridesmaids (what gal doesn’t want to feel pretty and girly at a wedding?). This short, strapless dress by After Six is particularly fetching. The frock’s berry color is flattering on light and dark skin tones. And I love the shade paired with the fresh blue hue of the hydrangea–wedding color palette, anyone?
Hair and makeup artist Gabby Gabbitas created three pretty looks for the bridesmaids (all perfect for summer weddings):
A slightly messy–but still chic–updo paired with a crystal pin…
A sleek chignon worn high on the crown of the head…
And the hair down with relaxed, loose curls…
And what garden party would be complete without a few delectable treats? Tea served in antique cups and saucers, and fresh-baked scones from The Grand America are a match made in heaven.
Thank you Lily & Iris and Jacque Lynn Photography for sharing this lovely bridesmaid fashion inspiration shoot with us!
Have a happy 24th of July weekend everyone!
